OMG! You have to do this! It will change you forever.

Breathe....Just Breathe
Music, it is so powerful and transforming. How quickly can I change my mood and my state with a song. I am listening to music on my laptop and each song changes me in the moment. It is so incredible how listening to Breathe (2 AM) makes me take such deep breaths. I have noticed recently that it feels as if I am holding my breath. I don't know why. I just find myself thinking and holding my breath. I don't think that I am stressed out or crazed about something. I wonder what is causing it.
So, I have completed 5 days of my three 30-day goals. I shared the 30-day concept with Karen in the office and she was totally intrigued. I gave her http://www.stevepavlina.com/ to check out. I so am digging that site and his 'experiments'. I am so digging my 5 days of success. I am excited to increase my list of goals to tackle for the upcoming year.
I signed up for Marcia Wieder's http://www.dreamcoach.com/ Dream Circle this week. I have had a tons of fun downloading her teleclasses to my iPod. (Speaking of which, I need to manifest another larger MP3 player into my life. I need more space for more music, lectures, etc.) Anyway, yesterday on the way to work, I listened to "Dealing with Doubt". There were some gems in the lecture that got my brain going. One of the things that really got my attention was sharing your dream with others. How many people talk about their dreams anymore?
So, today, I shared my dream at lunch which my co-workers. It felt kind of awkward and empowering at the same time. One of the ladies got excited and shared that she wanted a career makeover. I shared the information about "What Color is Your Parachute?" http://www.jobhuntersbible.com/. I listened to Richard Bolles today on the way to work. I ended up buying one of his recommended books: ASK. It's about a woman who finds that just by asking, she gets so many awesome perks. I can't wait to read and apply this information. I really enjoy Jack Canfield's Aladdin Factor which is similar...I think. I need to re-read that book and APPLY the knowledge.
Another gem of an idea came from MW herself. The topic was Big Intention 2007. She shared that we need to set our intentions (goals, prayers) out ahead of us. She also shared that we should place our intentions in OUR own actions and not on the outcome. This is such a powerful idea. I know that it is not the first time that I heard this, but this time it really struck my core. While coaching with Shyanne, she shared this idea. It worked well, but I allowed my old pattern of thinking of the outcome get me. I know now that it is because I value "certainty" so highly. Yeah, I learned that too is an illusion. Ha ha!
Due to my 5 days of working out, I am (happily) sore. My abs, my glutes, my calves, my back are all sore. Woo Hoo! I am working it baby. It reminds me of what I get to look forward to: a fit, healthy, ready-for-action, kick-ass physique. I will be doing cardio tomorrow. More Chalene baby!
On Monday's episode of Oprah, Bob Greene shared his new program and book, The Best Life Diet http://www.thebestlife.com/ . Debbie encouraged me to enter for a chance for Oprah's crew to follow me while I achieve my goals. Wouldn't that be something for accountability?! So, today, I sent my 2000-character, online entry with 3 photos to http://www.oprah.com/. I wonder when they are going to announce the 'winners'. How incredible would that be?
I was supposed to meet Dave for our second coaching session in SF. I decided to re-schedule our appointment due to the fact that there were only 2 lanes open on the bridge at commute time. I chose to not sit in the crazy traffic even though I was excited to meet for our planning session. I hope that he can get me in this weekend.
My intention for tomorrow: To get an awesome workout in before work. To walk with calmness in my heart. To be a blessing to each person that I encounter. To do a great job with each interview.

2006--->bleck, 2007---> My best year yet!

So, I realize that I haven't updated my blog in a loooooong time. A year to be more precise. I expect this to change. I am totally into journalling now...okay, I want to be, but I have been so consistent in writing. It feels great.
I also just realized that I need to come up with some new adjectives for awesome, great, fantastic. I want to expand my 'positive reaction' vocabulary so that it is more exciting and a better representation of my true sentiments.
Anyway, 2006 overall was a poopy year. I gained another 25 pounds. I grew deeper in debt. I still am at my job that does not fulfill me. It's funny how this happened despite the fact that I was VERY aware of my ability to create any change that I desire in my life. It is as if because I was aware of it that it became larger than me.
The highlight of my year was my Date with Destiny experience in December. Shortly before attending my six-day event in Palm Springs (December 6-11th), I reviewed my year. It was then that I realized that 2006 was an utter disappointment. Thank goodness that I didn't have to leave 2006 that way.
With just 3 weeks left, I created the best experience of my life. I see now that my "winter" allowed for my 'SPRING' to take hold. I am ready for change, I am ready for growth. I am ready to implement the knowledge, tools and resources that I have spent the last 2 years growing, gathering and cultivating. It is now time to pluck the ripe fruit from the vine. Not another book, lecture or coaching session is going to make me 'even more ready' for what actions I need to take. It's time to use industry to make my goals a reality. Pure, consistent, hard work is going to take me through what I know to what I am. This is something that I have been unwilling to do. No one gets to a dream without doing the work necessary. I have been waiting for my dream to land in my lap. When was the last time that ever happened?! Ha!
What I want:
1. Lose 70 pounds by October 1st, 2007.
2. Grow my spirituality through practice of meditation, self-love and manifesting.
3. Reduce my debt by $15,000.
4. Attend and graduate at the top of my makeup artistry class. Be invited to work with a well-established organization.
Why I want it.
1. I want to be show up at my 30th birthday fitter and finer than ever!
2. It feels so great to be connected to God. I know that I will have a sense of fulfillment that is available regardless of material matters and current external circumstances.
3. This is more weight than the excess weight that hangs on my body. Reducing my debt by $15,000 will alleviate so much pressure and stress from my life. This will also bring me closer to financial freedom
4. Makeup artistry has been a love and passion of mine for a long time. It is therapy for me. I love how I feel with a job well done. I also love to see how the women react when they feel good about how they look. It's a portal to creating a stronger sense of internal beauty.
What I am doing now:
I am working on my goals in stages. Currently, I am working on my spirituality and health and fitness goals as they are higher on my values list than the other goals. I have set up '30-day trial periods' to get my goals jump-started with a focus. It is so easy to create goals and even easier to forget about them. I found that working in stages with a short-term goal, I am more conscious of my desires. It also helps with my habit of procrastination.
I didn't realize how bad my habit of procrastination is. I didn't realize how quickly I create excuses to get out of what I need to be doing and stray from what is important to what I want now. Focusing on these short-term goals allows for me to focus on NOW instead of later. It is so simple, it's a breakthrough for me! Transformational!!!

I am soooooooooo bored!
I've got less than 19 minutes to add a post before the scheduled outage.
Ugh! I am so incredibly bored at the office today. When am I going to get it that I have the means to get out of here and never look back. I hate these days. It is such a waste of life to sit at a desk and just wait for the work hours to elapse so that I can escape to the world that entices me.
I have been snacking because it gives me something to do. After my bowl of soup for lunch, I had 2 chocolate Riesen, a Jolly Rancher Mango spicy lollipop and 2 maple cookies. Now, I needed none of that nor was I in the slightest hungry. But again, it gave me something to do.
I had my coaching call this afternoon during my lunch break. I started crying twice. We were talking about 'old stuff' and how it continues to affect what I do today. I can't wait to bring it all up. I have stuffed it down and ignored it for so long. I can't wait to release it and let it go forever. I didn't realize how I have let my past experiences affect me for so long and so unnecessarily! Yuck.
I have come to a few realizations that have been big eye-openers. They've all been popping up so quickly in these last few weeks. I hope that I am ready to shed the garbage and get on with living the life that I am supposed to enjoy.
Let me say this, in no way am I miserable or depressed. I just know that I deserve to have a more incredible life than I am allowing fo r right now. Interesting stuff huh...

Woo hoo!
So I've family updated my website to link this journal.
I am so happy! Last week I worked out every day AND I took 2 classes at the gym. One of the classes was a step class that I used to take 4-5 times a week. I was a little worried that I would be left behind with the choreography. I was pleasantly surprised that I got it down and was able to really work it. It was so fun and I left so much DNA on the floor. :)
On Sunday, I took the kickboxing class. I didn't perform as well as I did in the step class, but I still had a lot of fun.
I saw my crush yesterday. He is just too cute.
Well, it's 11 PM and I need to make my lunch and hit the sack so that can be up at 4:45 to go to the gym. Oh yeah, I purchased a new program called "cardio coach". It is a MP3 program that coaches you through your cardio workouts. I can't wait to try it out and see how it can positively affect my workout.

New Year, New You
It’s been a long while since I have been anywhere near this blog. Did I say something about not wanting to be one of those people who has a blog and never updates? LOL That’s me!
Well, 2005 ended well and now we enter 2006. I am so excited. I love new, fresh starts. It is always easier to start fresh at the beginning of a new year. I know that every day we are given a chance to start something new and exciting, but we usually wait until Sunday/Monday (whenever YOUR week begins) because it just feels right.
I have been on point with my weight loss efforts. I have exercised for 3 of the 4 days (and will have that 4 of 4 by this evening) and
I watched “The Biggest Loser” marathon this weekend. It was so awesome to see the transformations that took place over a six-month period. It got me even more excited to see what I will be experiencing on my way back to goal.
I realized that I have gained 20 pounds in the last year. I cannot believe that I let it get so crazy. From 2004 to 2005, I gained 10 pounds. From 2005 to 2006, I gained 20 pounds. If I continue on this path, I will gain 30 pounds this year! HA! NO WAY! I will be RELEASING 30 pounds this year, with the goal of losing 30 by March. I know that I will do it.
Here is why: I am committed to remaining focused on the things that I will gain from releasing this weight instead of the daily tasks that I have to do to make this happen. Last night, for instance, I went to our 2-$1000 Nordstrom Shopping Spree giveaways. They were serving TONS of boxes of See’s Chocolates. I love See’s! Well, I knew that they were going to have chocolate, so I brought a bottle of water and a 100 Calorie pack of Chips Ahoy Thin Crisps. It did it’s job and I was totally satisfied and proud of my accomplishment. This morning, I got up late and still made time to pack some healthy meals. I also decided that I will get my workout in this evening before watching “The Biggest Loser: Special Edition.”
Here’s the payoff: I weighed in on January 1, 2006 at 193.0. This morning, I weighed 190.6. This is great!
I am looking forward to the success that I will achieve in this next year in the other areas of my life: personal development, finances, relationships with others, creativity, spirituality, contribution/volunteering and my Mary Kay business.
Speaking of Mary Kay, my new car is to be delivered in just a few days. I can’t wait to zip around town in my FREE car.

Roses
I am handing out roses to people today in celebration of my new car from Mary Kay. I love the smiles on women's faces when they get a rose. It is also a nice way to start the week.
I went to an MK retreat this weekend and had a blast. I learned so much and am using my new knowledge already. It feels great.
I worked out 4 days last week, all morning sessions. That is great as I was having a tough time getting out of bed before. I love that my workout is already complete and leaves my day open for other possibilities. I will be doing my workout tonight though because I needed extra time to get prepared with the roses this morning. I am going to do a workout called "The Gauntlet." Oh baby! This workout is a killer...and I love it. It is over an hour long filled with cardio and strength training. It will take your breath away and leave no muscle untouched. It is so worth it when you are done.
Today, I took extra care in the selection of my outfit. I bought a new cream-colored skirt that has gold flecks in the sticking. I am also wearing a gold-colored velvet blazer and matching boots. I must say that it looks so pulled together without being pretentious! LOL

I love this...
I just wanted to have a title with love in it.
I am sitting at my desk on this Thursday afternoon and bored. I cannot wait until I can walk away from this J O B and get on with whatever it is I am truly supposed to do with my life. I am so not an office person. It is up to me to get my butt moving so that I can get out of here for good. I have the tools, I just need to you them in the correct manner to make them work for me. Isn't that always the case?! Weight loss, workouts, life...I am well-prepared, I just need to act consistently.
Speaking of weight loss and working out, I am proud to say that I have consistently journalled and have worked out 3 days this week already. My plan is at least 2 more days of workouts this week for a total of 5. The food has been going well. I plan my day in advance and work to stick to it.
Today is my Friday so I am excited. I am having some people over to my house tonight. I hope to have a decent turnout. Nothing fancy, just for fun and food. I need to get home early so that I can prepare for the folks. Let's see how I can swing that!

Day 1 in the bag!
So, I made it through Day 1 of my quest to get back to goal with flying colors. I had to modify my evening meal and actually came in under points and was not hungry. I am think that I will have to have a visual calendar that I put stars on for being on track/On-Program (OP). I did my workout; I followed my food plan. Yippee!
I ended up going to sleep at 9:30 watching Degrassi. Yes, I am a dork. I used to watch the show when I was a young'n and love to see how they've updated the stories to fit today's youth.
Because I went to bed so early, I didn't take time to make my lunch, select my workout or pick out my clothing. I had to wing it this morning. Luckily, I did plan my meals for the day yesterday afternoon. After I was dressed, I made my breakfast and lunch. I actually eat 4 meals while I am at work.
It is so much easier to stay OP during the week. It is the structure of the day. I just need to have similar structure with myself on the weekend and I will be just fine. When I was getting to goal, I had little problem journalling my food or going out of my point range. It's amazing--when we are hungry for the goal, nothing stands in our way!
I woke up this morning at 4:30 AM and stayed in bed until 5 when my alarm went off. I got out of bed and into my workout gear, washed my face and headed to my workout room/office. I selected a program by Tony Horton called "Plyo Legs". It's a program that incorporates weightless toning with higher intensity cardio drills. Tony Horton is pretty silly, but when you think about it, why can't we be silly when we are working out? It was a good workout that tested my cardiovascular fitness and burned the crap out of my legs!
Like I shared yesterday, I am working on keeping the cardio high and the strength training high reps. I need to sit down a work out a training rotation for this week so that I ensure that I am hitting each body part at least once and getting it various types of cardio workouts. I might head to the gym tomorrow for a run.
Day 2 meals started with a favorite: Turkey Bacon and Egg white burrito/wrap. I used 3 strips of Jennie-O turkey bacon 1.5 points, 2 egg whites 0 points and Del Valle baby burrito tortilla 1 point. I also had a cup of caffe d'vitta capuccino 1 point. Total 3.5 points, filling and yummy!
I hope to get out of here (the office) early today so that I can go and vote.

Look at me!
Oh wow! This is me from when I was in college. That was 3 years before I began losing weight and getting healthy. Hey, at least the smile is the same...just less cheeks.I am grateful that I have experienced what life is like after losing so much weight. It feels wonderful even if I am not at my goal. I am still 60 pounds lighter than I was in this photo. Sixty POUNDS! That's a lot.
Shopping
I am wearing a brand new outfit that makes me feel great. I went shopping over the weekend and pick up some things from Old Navy. I have received many compliments and that adds to the feeling. I also changed my makeup a bit and wore a deep color of lipstick. I also made sure to have plenty of time to do my hair this morning after my workout.
Now, let me tell you: I LOVE TO SHOP! Let me also tell you that I don't enjoy how quickly my self-esteem can go into the toilet when I have to come to terms with being a size 14 again. Me no likey. I am working intently on getting back down to a size 10 by this spring.
Lipstick: I have forever been a lipgloss girl. Recently, since starting my business 10 months ago, I have worn lipstick I love how quickly lipstick can change your appearance and your mood. I now have a small collection of colors that I wear on a regular basis from a coppery brown (Gingerbread) to deep berry (Black Cherry)to a warm red (Crimson Glow). I still love to layer my glosses on top of the lipstick for that extra shimmer.
So, I am on Day 1 of getting to my spring goal. I got up this morning a 5 AM to workout to Cathe Friedrich's Cardio & Weights. I have worked out with Cathe for about 3 years now. She is the queen of home exercise, IMO. By the time that I am done with any of her workouts (I probably have 20 in my collection just from her), I am a sweaty mess. I LOVED IT! I feel so accomplished. LOL Well, in order to get my weight off quickly, I am going to incorporate lots of circuit training into my workout plan. From previous experience, this type of workout presents the fastest results in weight loss and changing my body.
I've been watching "Ultimate Goals" on FitTv and love to see how quickly people can lose 15-30 pounds in just 2 months time using diet and exercise. I remember when I first started WW, I lost 24 pounds in 2 months. Can I tell you how thrilled I was? I was thrilled beyond belief! That's when I knew that I would make it to goal. I continued to lose in nice quantities (average 1.5-2 lbs per week) for about 7 months before my losses began to slow down.
So, on UG, the participants select an activity that they will do after their 2 month training program. I wonder what my Ultimate Goal would be? A triathlon? A marathon? A bike race? A dance competition It would have to be something fun and that most people wouldn't dare to do. I am into be unique and stretching the boundaries! LOL
Now, let me tell you: I LOVE TO SHOP! Let me also tell you that I don't enjoy how quickly my self-esteem can go into the toilet when I have to come to terms with being a size 14 again. Me no likey. I am working intently on getting back down to a size 10 by this spring.

just a girl with God-sized dreams
I am sitting here at my office, enjoying a snack of Trader Joe's lowfat Honey Whole Wheat Pretzels and Reduced Fat PB. Can I share that I enjoy Reduced Fat PB over regular, not because of the reduced fat content but because of the increased SUGAR content!
This is my first entry and most definitely not my last. You know, it's just crappy when you see so many blogs started and not updated regularly. Well, I am one of those crappy people. LOL I had another location where I kept my thoughts, ideas and woes and cannot remember the password. (I didn't update the site for about 8 months!) Well, this is a sign for a fresh start. I hope to use this as a mind 'dump'. So many wonderfully crazy things (take that as you wish) stream through my mind all day. I hope rid myself of some of those nagging things and share the most wonderful things.
Well, here are a couple of fun facts about me:
*I am a lifetime member of WW who has lost 85 lbs. This has been one of my greatest accomplishments to date. I love to work out, but allow lack of time to keep me from doing more of it. I love to play softball and stay active. I have put back 20 pounds of what I've lost and am working to get back to my personal goal.
*I just earned brand new car from Mary Kay. I love my business. It is so much fun and has offered me a new look at my life. I didn't realize how many things that I needed to work on! LOL I love to teach other women how to apply makeup. I've found that many more women would wear makeup, but do not feel comfortable with their skills of application. I love seeing women change this and feel better about how they look. Shallow? I don't feel so.
*I am an aunt to 2 beautiful girls (14 and 2 1/2). I have no children myself and am not in a rush to have any. I like my freedom a lot and don't see myself being willing to give it up quite yet.
*I work for the government and cannot wait to change this not-so-fun fact about me. My goal is to be out of here by April 2006.
Let's go back to weight loss for a second. Achieving weight loss success is such a pivotal marker in my life. I didn't know that when I started the journey to lose that I would sit here 5 years later and realize what achieving that goal has done for my life. Yes, I am healthier and feel that I look better, but I am such a different person that the woman that walked into that first WW meeting on Wednesday, September 13th, 2000. I realize that taking on a goal of such caliber and completing it is such an empowering, life-altering experience. I am a better, more driven person because of it. All of my weight loss tools had flooded themselves into other parts of my life. I think that every person needs to have such a life-altering experience so that they know that it is worth the energy, effort, passion and sleepless moments to take on a goal bigger than their comprehension and previous attempts. I say previous attempts because according to my track record, I would have failed again. If I had not tried again, I would not have had this opportunity to succeed. Look at all that I would have missed!
I think that the reward one of the best rewards of completing a goal is not the actual goal itself, but all the work and passion that it represents. My future looks brighter when I look at my past...
So, that is why I say that I am "just a girl with big dreams."
